Poppy Leigh Floral is Back in Texas

We’ve all heard the saying,”You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl.” Well I tried to leave and I can tell you from experience that it is much harder to leave Texas than the old saying alludes. While the beauty we lived in being Maine residents is unlike anything I have ever experienced, we missed our people. If we could have moved all of you out there with us to have the best of both worlds, we would have in a heartbeat! Because if there is one thing we learned from our Northern expedition, it is that people make a home, not the place.

I think the dream of running off to far away places full of new adventures and the opportunity to forge your own path resonates with a lot of people. So as soon as my husband and I got the chance, we packed up and headed North in search of adventure and the chance to create a life on our own terms. As magical as it was to finally live the dream in a quiet, off-grid, hilltop cabin in Maine, we never expected to miss our family and our sweet community as much as we did. Believe me when I say that we could not be here without the support of YOU. I am so excited to be back and serving our community by spreading beauty and love in the best way we know how, with the art of flowers.

So we are back home in Livingston enjoying the warm sun and cool water, time with family and catching up with old friends and making new ones. My soul has been recharged with so much creative energy since being back that I couldn’t help but hit the ground running! And while we are excited to be back and ready to dive right back in, things are going to look a little different in the upcoming 2023 season.

As many of you know, this business was born after realizing the dream of growing and designing with my own flowers and bringing more awareness to the beauty and importance of locally grown seasonal flowers. While growing a field of beautiful flowers to share and design with on a whim was such a wonderful experience, it is a LOT of work. All of my flower farmer friends out there, my hats are off to you because I know firsthand just how taxing it is! So next spring Poppy Leigh Flower Farm will be transitioning into a cutting garden for exclusive use in our custom arrangements starting next Spring. While we may be scaling down in flower farm square footage, there will be no shortage of beautiful blooms. The goal of this transition is to be able to focus more time and attention on a smaller plot of plants with even more time to spend focussing on our wedding and event clients.

One new exciting service we are offering lovely wedding couples is the opportunity to request specific colors or varieties of flowers grown especially for their big day! It is such a fun and unique way for our couples to customize their color palette and bloom selection. I am over the moon excited to be able to offer this and am already curating my overwintering high tunnel with blooms for one of our amazing couples tying the knot next Spring!

So if having fresh locally grown, seasonal flowers is something you love having access to, you will still have a chance! We plan on continuing to make our designs and blooms available to all of you via pop-ups, custom orders, and holidays. We have more exciting things to share with you all when the time comes, but for now we are so happy to be back and ready to serve you with flowers and a smile!

xx,

Meagan
